Hope
The Hope Happening was a youth festival held as part of the Pope's visit to Belgium. The task was to gather 5,000 young people in less than 3 months for a music festival at the Heizel in Brussels. The young people were able to stay overnight at Heizel and were the first to attend the mass with the Pope at the King Baudouin Stadium.
The challenge was significant on all fronts, as it was summer vacation, the young people had to register and pay, and all communication had to be in four languages. The logo was designed by Hotel Bonka. I worked with a French-speaking colleague to coordinate the entire communication strategy. We achieved our goal and had 5,600 attendees. The Pope was initially not scheduled to attend, but as a surprise, or the cherry on top, he did, which was also a "once in a lifetime" experience for me.
We had an enthusiastic team of professionals and volunteers who put their shoulder into this event for 3 months. Aside from the coordination and communication strategy, I also helped guide the social media strategy and set up a structure in Canva to enable everyone on the team to create the necessary materials. Additionally, I was responsible for coordinating the photographers, videographers, and influencers.
It was a rewarding experience where we achieved a lot, especially as a team.
